Caden {10.27.14}

So for this week we watched a cow gave birth.... yum:/ and we hit the standard of excellence! IT was awesome! We worked really hard and we did it! So things here are going great! I thought it was so awesome because they have not been able to hit the standard for the last 2 and half months or so! So we are doing it and it is all because of members. We got to a point where we had nothing to do that day and we went tracting which I don't like cause doesn't involve members. We hit 7 houses and 5 people opened the door and we taught a lesson to all 5 of them so that was cool!!! 3 said we could come back. But that is tracting... you get a  ton of lessons really easily and then it doesn't always go somewhere but elder porter was SOOO happy about it and it made it all worth it! Oh ya!!! Last Monday I got a black eye from wrestling with the guy next to me in the pic... but don't worry!!! I won every time:)

Called To Serve

One year ago today, Caden was called to be Elder Madsen in the Tulsa, Oklahoma mission, leaving just six weeks later on December 4th 2013.

That day was so emotional.

He received his call from the first presidency the day before and that's when everything became real. He waited until the next day to open it so that his entire family could make it.

The next morning before he opened his call, we and some of our cute friends spent the day at Frightmares at Lagoon. It was so much fun and I'm so glad we made it. However, we were both anxious as can be the entire day.

When we got to his house that night it was packed with all of the many people who love and support Caden. It was so fun to see all of the support he was given! He's kind of a catch.

Caden read his call and everyone hollered and cheered as he read where he'd be the next two years. I was good until he said December 4th then I really lost it. That was so soon. Lucky for me his cute sister was there to pick up the pieces.

This was a day that we will both never forget. This was the start of the best six weeks of my entire life. Being on a time bomb like that with the person you love really puts things in perspective. I found something within those few weeks that I knew I wasn't going to lose. Especially not just because we were far apart.

Those weeks were hard; lots of tears took place here. How does one prepare to say goodbye to their bestfriend? Somehow, we did it. & We are still doing it and I am SOOO proud of him. He is seriously a killer missionary.  I'm totally jealous of the people he gets to teach each day. I love you Caden! Look how far we've come!!

Caden {10.14.14}

So Owasso is pretty neat! there is no poverty is here which is kinda strange to get used to but I love it here! we live with  the stake patriarch which is always very spiritual and nice. Elder Porter my new comp. is a champ and he is doing really good! he is kind of a goober but he is good. so far I have been able to leave a nice impression on the ward and they have already offered up more referrals than they did last transfer so that is pretty neat! I can already tell we will have a lot of success here:) it was hard to leave Neosho though. I love and miss those people a whole lot! they are pretty sweet.

{Ten}

I'm super duper excited about this, p.s.

TEN. DOUBLE DIGITS. YAY.

So this month's postcard takes place at Daybreak Lake. Before I met Caden, I had never been to this little lake before. But for the 3+ years I've known him, this was probably ..okay maybe.. my favorite place of ours. Usually on Sunday's, after we were each done with our family things we would drive and meet each other here. We spent so many hours just sitting and talking and laughing and just enjoying each other here. The memories, the moments, and the conversations I remember here aren't something I have on camera but they're something I'll always remember.

Maybe one day if we're rich and lucky, we'll live here. But until then, this is a place of us; a place where we figured each other out and became something together.

You're almost halfway there Cade! I hope you can see how proud you make me. I love you!
