China {week three}

This week was a short week for teaching! The kids had finals Thursday and Friday so that meant a long weekend for us! Wahoo!

Third graders were still so fun this week! It's been fun to see each of their strengths and what they struggle with and then help them the best I can.

First graders are still adorably naughty. We did bowling this week together and they loved it! Who knew knocking down water bottles with cotton balls, volleyballs and bouncy balls could be so fun!

Wednesday after teaching we found a Mexican restaurant for dinner! There were only white customers in there which was pretty funny. Guess everyone is going through withdrawls together! It was really good though! It'll have to do until they build a Cafe Rio here. (;

Thursday morning we left for our little 2 day vacation to Suezo, which is the Venice of China! BUT... since it was snowing our train was delayed. We waited for 3+ hours and then decided it wasn't worth it since there still wasn't an arrival time. Instead we had a movie night with all of us girls!

Friday we went to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial all day. It was actually very well done! We loved it. It was really sad seeing the stories of the destruction and the memorials for the 300,000 people killed. After that we explored another part of town and found a really good dinner place!

Saturday we woke up "early" and went to the Purple Mountain Park. It was so much fun but we decided to go back to see the bigger exhibits on a day where we could feel our toes. We instead found the City Wall and explored around there and got some fun pictures! We also did archery while we were there! It was a really fun way to end the weekend! (:

Sunday we went to church, lesson planned and prepared for the upcoming week. It was fast Sunday which is my favorite day to be in church! The spirit during fast and testimony meeting was so awesome. It was so nice to just be there and feel just a little closer to home. I love the ward here, but that'll deserves it's own post.

Alright, I will stop rambling now. Here's the pictures from the week! Love and miss you all!
